AileyCamp Celebrates 30 Years at Final Performances

More than 600 individuals came out to support the 2018 AileyCamp in Topeka and celebrate the 30th Anniversary at White Concert Hall at Washburn University on July 6.  And more than 1,200 people enjoyed the experience of AileyCamp at the 2018 Final Performance presentation on July 7 at the Kaufmann Center for the Performing Arts.

For 30 years, AileyCamp, a program offered through Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey (KCFAA), has impacted the lives of thousands of youth and their families in the Greater Kansas City area.

The final performances highlighted everything AileyCampers learned throughout the summer, including that the arts require discipline, focus, flexibility and acceptance. Despite the deep, creative engagement opportunities, the foundation and focus of the camp is personal development.

Thank you to all who have supported AileyCamp for the past 30 years!  Here’s to 30 more!
