Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey’s Studio Dance Program mission is to provide high quality, affordable dance training in the Kansas City region.
Through Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance techniques and workshops, students develop skills associated with academic success in a creative environment. Students can participate in personal development workshops, field trips, master dance classes and dance performances.
Students also participate in KCFAA’s Annual Spring Dance Concert at the end of the program year. Convenient monthly payment and income-based scholarship options are available.
Classes for the 2022-2023 school year begin October 10, 2022 and culminate with the KCFAA’s Annual Spring Concert – May 3, 2023. An October 1 or 8 placement for students grade five/six 9:30 am and seven/twelve 11:00 am is required.
Student family account information is managed in our customer management system, JackRabbit. In your JackRabbit account, you can view your dance class schedule(s), account balance, update your payment method, make online payments, and enroll for classes through your JackRabbit portal. Please email all enrollment questions or questions about your JackRabbit portal to programs@kcfaa.org

ENROLLMENT
New Customers
If you are new to KCFAA STUDIO, please complete the required fields on the Registration Form to create your account portal. Click here to enroll If the portal recognizes your email address, you are an existing customer.
Existing Customers
If you danced with us in the 2019-2022 Studio Program, your information is on file in your account portal (JackRabbit). Your account portal is your starting point for registration. Please login with your email and password, review all sections and update your contact and payment information. Follow directions to reset your password if you do not remember it. Click here to enter the payment portal
- Select the Classes & Events option in the top menu to access the Find Classes page.
- Select a class from the list shown.
- To enroll a student(s) into the class, click the Add To Cart button.
- Select a student, or multiple students to enroll from the list of eligible students shown by selecting the checkbox next to their name.
- When all desired classes have been added to the cart, click on the cart icon in the top menu and click the Enroll Now button to complete the enrollments.
- After completing the enrollment select the payment amount (minimum 20%) you wish to pay and complete the payment process.

TUITION
Program Year Tuition: Grades Kindergarten-1st: $175.00 (1 class per week); Grades 2nd-4th: $200.00 (1 class per week); Grades 3rd-8th Boys Class: $200.00 (1 class per week); $280.00 Grades 5th-12th (Two classes per week)
Tuition is calculated for classes that take place during the academic school year (October 10, 2022 – Wednesday May 3, 2023). Studio closings and cancellations have been considered in the tuition fee. Tuition payment may be paid in full or in 5 equal monthly (October 2022 – Feb 2023) installments.

- One Installment of $175 for K-1st grade classes; $200 for 2nd-4th grade classes; $200 for 3rd-8th grade boys classes; $280 for 5th-12th grade classes

Upon completing enrollment, your full tuition balance will appear in your cart. You must click the Enroll Now button to complete your enrollment. You may pay your full tuition balance at this time, or, if you choose to pay in 5 equal monthly payments, your first payment (20% of the total tuition) is required by October 15, 2022. The remaining balance is to be paid in 4 equal payments due on Nov 15, 2022, Dec 15, 2022, Jan 15, 2023, and Feb 15, 2023. You may also pay your remaining balance or amounts greater than the 20% monthly minimum at any time. All balances must be paid in full by Feb 15, 2023. Monthly payment reminders will be sent on all outstanding balances.

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION & DATES
PLACEMENT CLASS
5th through 12th grade students are required to attend a placement class Saturday, October 1st or October 8th at Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, 1714 East 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108 (wear clothing to move in).
- 5th-6th Grade Students — 9:30 am or 10:30 am (arrive 15 minutes early).
- 7th-12th Grade Students — 11:00 am or 12:30 am (arrive 15 minutes early). Current Group III student do not need to attend.
Late enrolling students will be placed after taking their first class.
CLASS ATTIRE
- Girls – black unitard available for purchase at $20
- Boys – white Tee-Shirt and black Shorts
- Ballet Slippers are needed for students grades 5 through 12 available for purchase at $10
No shoes or socks for modern and jazz dance classes. Attire is non-binary, choose the attire that best fits your needs.
COVID-19 SAFETY
Masks are required for all students and staff entering KCFAA until further notice, parents are not allowed to enter KCFAA until further notice due to social distancing requirements. Enrollment is limited to fifteen students per class. While classes are in person this year KCFAA reserves the right to transfer all classes to virtual via Zoom classes if needed due to COVID-19 community spread.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS
Classes are cancelled when Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) closes, dismisses early or cancels school and/or evening activities due to inclement weather. Cancellations are announced on the KCFAA telephone system 816.471.6003, ext. 9.
PARENT GROUP
Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey (KCFAA) is reengaging our Parent Group to support our students and KCFAA. Parents can support education programming, events, office tasks, and fundraising. The group will meet every other month on a designated date and time to be established. You don’t have to attend every meeting. Parents are a great advocate for KCFAA and can share our great work with their family, friends, and community. For additional information contact programs@kcfaa.org.

AILEYCAMP THE GROUP
AILEYCAMP THE GROUP (ACTG) Students participate in two class each week
Level I, II, III
ACTG was created in 1995 by Chief Artistic Officer, Tyrone Aiken for students that complete AileyCamp. ACTG students are grades seven through twelve and take two dance class per week in (Ballet, Modern and Jazz) dance and participate in personal development class classes. ACTG has three levels with student placement based on their dance proficiency. Student attend fieldtrips, cultural events and select students are invited to perform for audiences in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey is proud of our AileyCamp the Group graduating seniors or Berkley Scholars. Each year our Berkley Scholars graduate high school ready to continue their education in college or enter the workforce.
All new ACTG students will participate in an audition placement class.
