The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Development who is a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to fundraising and relationship management. In partnership with KCFAA leadership, including the CEO, Board of Directors, staff, and key volunteers, the Director of Development will lead the creation, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve annual and long-term revenue goals.
Lead Strategy & Development Operations
- Develop and strengthen internal development systems and processes, including gift processing and tracking, donor stewardship, grant reporting, prospect research, and pipeline management.
- Manage relationships and revenue strategies across individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundations, grants, and government funding sources.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure new funding opportunities that support KCFAA’s short- and long-term goals.
- Lead all grant-writing activities, including internal and outsourced grant development efforts.
- Oversee all aspects of the donor database (Salesforce), ensuring data integrity, accurate gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and reporting.
- Monitor fundraising performance and provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to the CEO and Board of Directors as requested.
- Stay informed on nonprofit fundraising trends, donor engagement strategies, and emerging revenue opportunities to support sustainable organizational growth.
- Partner with staff and volunteers in the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Programming, Marketing, and Finance teams to align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities.
Event Strategy & Execution
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of KCFAA’s fundraising and cultivation events, including galas, donor receptions, campaign events, and stewardship gatherings.
- Develop event goals, budgets, timelines, and success metrics in alignment with annual fundraising objectives.
- Oversee event logistics, vendor coordination, sponsorship integration, volunteer engagement and ticket management.
- Partner with Marketing, Programming, and Development staff to ensure events align with organizational branding, messaging, and mission impact.
- Identify opportunities to leverage events for donor acquisition, retention, and major gift cultivation.
- Evaluate event performance and provide post-event reporting, including revenue outcomes, engagement metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
Manage & Mentor
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management support for development staff.
- Partner with the CEO to develop and implement current and future fundraising strategies and clearly communicate goals and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors and serve as staff liaison to the Fund Development, Ambassador, and Events Committees.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the annual revenue budget and recommend adjustments to meet fundraising objectives.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field; fundraising certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive nonprofit fundraising and event management experience with a demonstrated record of success.
- Proven experience securing grants from government, foundation, and corporate sources preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate organizational mission, impact, and vision to diverse audiences.
- Passion for arts education and community impact preferred.
- Experience with fundraising databases required; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with OneCause is a plus.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager who is equal parts strategist and doer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping KCFAA’s marketing direction while executing high-impact campaigns that help drive attendance, participation, and donor engagement. You will manage a Marketing Coordinator and collaborate across teams, but you will also stay close to the work by planning, writing, building, launching and measuring campaigns that bring our mission to life.
What You Will Do

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support the execution of marketing and communications strategies that elevate KCFAA’s mission, expand community engagement, and drive program enrollment, performances, fundraising efforts, and community participation. Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, this role helps bring campaigns to life through compelling storytelling, consistent branding, strong cross-departmental coordination, and strategic social media management. The Marketing Coordinator will help grow KCFAA’s digital presence to increase awareness of programs such as AileyCamp and Summer Dance, promote performances and fundraising events, and deepen engagement with donors, partners, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign Execution & Coordination
- Support the rollout of integrated marketing campaigns for KCFAA programs, including AileyCamp, school-based residencies, performances, and special events.
- Coordinate campaign timelines, assets, and internal communication to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on campaign performance, including attendance, participant reach, and engagement metrics.
Content Development & Storytelling
- Draft and edit content for email newsletters, social media, website updates, and print materials.
- Capture and share stories that highlight student impact, teaching artists, and community partnerships.
- Ensure all content reflects KCFAA’s voice, mission, and brand standards.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and oversee all KCFAA social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms).
- Manage day-to-day social media scheduling and posting across platforms, creating and publishing compelling content (graphics, photos, video, and storytelling) that reflects KCFAA’s mission and impact.
- Support email marketing campaigns, including formatting, segmentation, and distribution.
- Maintain and update website content, including program pages, event listings, and blog/news updates.
Program & Development Support
- Provide marketing support for performances, donor events, and community engagements (collateral, signage, digital promotion).
- Assist with on-site marketing needs during events as required.
- Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts by promoting campaigns, recognizing sponsors and supporters, and reinforcing KCFAA’s value to the community.
- Monitor social media trends and adapt content to increase visibility, engagement, and audience growth.
Administrative & Asset Management
- Maintain the marketing calendar and content planning tools.
- Organize and manage digital assets (photos, videos, graphics).
- Coordinate with external vendors (designers, printers, photographers) as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or nonprofit work.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms/management, email marketing systems and analytics tools.
- Experience with Canva or basic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

This role partners closely with outsourced accounting and HR teams to ensure accurate, timely financial and operational processes, while maintaining strong internal systems. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, comfortable working with financial information, and skilled at aligning people, processes, and communication.
What You’ll Do
Office & Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, systems, and administrative workflows
- Maintain organized records, files, and internal documentation
- Support staff with scheduling, logistics, and operational needs
- Serve as a point of contact for vendors and general inquiries
Financial Coordination (with Outsourced Accounting Team)
- Serve as the primary internal liaison to the external accounting/bookkeeping team
- Prepare and submit documentation (receivables, invoices, receipts, coding details) for processing in QuickBooks
- Review financial reports for accuracy and follow up on questions or discrepancies
