AileyCamp is a five-week summer day camp where students are introduced to dance and come to respect the discipline of dance as a physical activity which requires athletic ability comparable to skills demanded by any sport. Campers also increase their leadership skills and enjoy a variety of athletic and social activities. They learn that dance is challenging, fun, and helps them in other sports and in life!
You’re invited to see what the AileyCampers experience each and everyday during their five-week camping adventure!

Gala 2019 is Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey’s (KCFAA) largest single fundraising initiative and a critical component of its budget. Proceeds from Gala benefit KCFAA’s 11 year-round education and youth development programs that will teach 25,000 children critical life skills through dance in 2019.
KCFAA’s education programs are built on the philosophy that the skills needed to learn dance are the same skills needed for broader success in life: creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
To support this inspiring year-round community outreach, KCFAA will present an exquisite evening of dinner, dancing and an exhilarating performance by six acclaimed Ailey II dancers. Our May 4th, 2019 35th Anniversary Gala is an opportunity to experience the Ailey magic while investing in KCFAA and the next generation of Kansas Citians.

Setting the Stage is a visual journey through African-American dance history. This multi-media story of African-American dance is interwoven into the broader tapestry of history, and gives insights into the legacies of African-American pioneers in modern dance and American history.
