Dear Parents and Students,
Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey 2019 Studio Dance Program’s fall registration will begin on or before August 30. I am sorry for the delay. KCFAA is expanding by adding classes for kindergarten and first grade students. After extensive evaluation and planning we are also adding an average tuition cost of $7 per class or $200 for a full year of classes. Full and partial scholarships are available and based on income!
We are also excited to announce our Studio Plus drop-in dance classes for $10 per class in Zumba and Yoga for adults, tap for youth, and hip-hop for students ages 11 and older.
I look forward to seeing all of my returning students for an exciting year of dance. New fifth through twelfth grade students are required to attend a placement class September 7, or 14.

Studio classes at Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey provide the highest standards of excellence in dance education for young people.
The 2nd – 4th Grade Program includes elements of classical ballet, modern, and jazz. Students meet once each week, after school, September through May.
The 5th and 6th Grade Program includes ballet and jazz dance. Class is held twice a week, after school, September – May. All new 5th and 6th grade members are required to attend the placement class.
Classes are held at the David T. Beals, III Studio at 18th & Vine, 1714 East 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108. Classes are free with a $35 registration fee ($50 for households with more than one child enrolled). The registration fee may be waived based on family income.
All 5th and 6th Grade students are required to attend the placement class.

Enroll Now! Classes fill quickly. Enrollment for the 2018-2019 session ends October 31, 2018 as space permits.
2nd – 4th grade students – Complete enrollment forms/registration fee online by September 11, 2018
5th and 6th GRADE STUDENTS – Complete enrollment forms/registration fee online by by September 11, 2018 or at the required *placement class on September 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
Classes are free with a $35 registration fee ($50 for households with more than one child enrolled). The registration fee may be waived based on family income. To qualify for the registration fee waiver, annual family income must fall within the household size guidelines listed below:
| 1 person – $16,642 | 5 persons – $39,716 |
| 2 persons – $22,411 | 6 persons – $45,484 |
| 3 persons – $28,179 | 7 persons – $51,253 |
| 4 persons – $33,948 | 8 persons – $57,021 |
For households with more than 8 persons, add $4,180 for each additional person.

3rd Grade: Tuesday 6:00 pm – 6:50 pm
4th Grade: Wednesday 6:00 pm – 6:50 pm
Participants are required to wear dress code attire to all classes. No exceptions.
Dance attire is available for purchase at KCFAA.
Female: Royal Blue Unitard Male: Black Shorts, Fitted White T-Shirt
Unitard: $20.00 Shorts: $10.00
5th and 6th grade class schedule / attire
6A: Monday / Wednesday 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm
6B: Tuesday / Thursday 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm
